Wanderlust

Here is our “roadmap” for exploring the world. Whenever we find somewhere interesting that we would like to visit, we add it here. I’m not sure if we’ll ever visit all these points, but it’s a place to start.

• Red is natural beauty- viewpoints, mountains, arches, waterfalls, etc. Most of these are traditional “points of interest.”
• Purple is roads- usually the road is particularly scenic, has lots of switchbacks, particularly rough, historic, or at high elevation. The vast majority of these are unpaved.
• Blue is history- pre-columbian ruins, museums, war ruins, etc
• Yellow is “Just To Say You Did It”, or JTSYDI. These are places that are not particularly beautiful or interesting other than that they are at the end of the road, or have some odd history or notoriety, and are usually extremely remote.
• Brown is national parks. I have all the US parks that you can drive to, as well as some outside the US.

This is not intended to be an end-all-be-all of places to go in the Americas. It is much more of a “oh, I want to see that someday!” list. We don’t generally mark points that are super well known- it’s not like we could forget  Pikes Peak or the Golden Gate Bridge.
