Pan-am jeep

We don’t really have a name for our home on wheels- maybe we should. Anyhow, we have built our 2015 Jeep Wrangler into a mini-RV, complete with a refrigerator, a water system, storage cabinets, and a comfy bed. 

The Basics

We were very deliberately looking for a 2012-2018 Jeep Wrangler, with a manual transmission. Delaney’s brother Owen had a customer at his shop, a wonderful woman, who had just had hip surgery and could no longer comfortably drive a stick shift. She had a 2015 Wrangler with all the features we wanted- stick shift, Rubicon package, and very low miles. So we reached out and her and her husband and they gave us a great deal. 

The jeep was completely stock, other than a dealer-installed skyjacker 2″ lift. Slowly at first, and finally at a furious pace in the last month before we left, we got to work. 

Modifications

Forgive me if I bore you with this list- but I will attempt to list out every modification we have made. Most headers will eventually be linked to our thoughts about the modification. 

The Top

  • Ursa Minor J30 Pop Top, serial #7, made in 2012
  • Cut out rear of roof, “Dan Grec Edition”. Ursa Minor made two tops like this, I haven’t heard of anyone else modifying theirs as we have
